I started writing when I was 6 years old... scribbling prescriptions. That was my job, and I took it seriously! When my mum took me or my brother to the doctor, I would ask them for a blank prescription paper. I would go home and write prescriptions, wanting to make everyone around me feel better and happy.
I wrote since, whenever I felt like I wanted to express things that I couldn't, whenever I wanted to see my thoughts and look at them like you want to look at a reflection in the mirror.
By putting our thoughts and experiences on paper, we can gain a clearer understanding of challenges we face and see them from different angles.
One of the most powerful reasons to write is for emotional release. Difficult emotions like sadness, anger, fear, or grief can leave us feeling overwhelmed. Writing provides a safe space to unpack these emotions, allowing us to process them in a healthy way.
We store our emotions in our body, and we keep them there, locked, until we find a way of expressing them, and writing can provide that healthy space.
Through writing, we express our stories, experiences, and we learn to understand our emotions, our actions and motives to foster understanding and make healthy choices for our own wellbeing.
Reading this post, you are probably wondering if you should start writing prescriptions (and while this can be a very important thing to do if you are a doctor, I would not necessarily suggest it).
I do encourage you to explore the power of writing and experience the amazing benefits it can bring to your wellbeing and health.
